Regency Properties, a commercial real estate company specializing in county seat communities, recently sold Village Commons Shopping Center. The 207,000-square-foot center is located off the Lloyd Expressway in Evansville, and includes national tenants such as Gander Mountain, Hobby Lobby and Ross Dress for Less.
The disposition is consistent with Regency’s strategy of recycling capital by selling assets in certain markets that are no longer aligned with its core strategies in order to fund new investment opportunities in county seat communities. The company recently acquired Huck Finn Shopping Center in Hannibal, Missouri and East Pointe Plaza in Bucyrus, Ohio.
“This year Regency has already expanded into two new states, Missouri and Ohio, and we plan to continue growing throughout 2016,” said Kevin Hammett, president and chief executive officer.
