Regency Properties, an Evansville, Indiana based commercial real estate company, has just acquired Jackson Square Shopping Center. The nearly 74,000 square foot Center is located at 2415 College Avenue in Jackson, Alabama.
Regency Properties will renovate the exterior of the shopping center this year. At the same time, a renovation of the interior of the Pic-N-Sav grocery store, which is also located in Jackson Square, will be initiated by that store’s new owner, Ramey’s Markets. These improvements will give the shopping center a new look and provide shoppers with the shopping experience they deserve. There will also be improved retail spaces available to new tenants.
Other stores located in Jackson Square are Peebles Department Store, Rent-A-Center, No. 1 China Restaurant, Factory Connection and Hair & Nail shop. There will be about 18,000 square feet of retail space available for rent.
Jackson Mayor Richard Long commented, “It is my pleasure to welcome Regency Properties and Ramey’s Markets to our city and I can assure our community the companies will be outstanding corporate citizens. I have worked with Jim McKinney, Regency Properties’ CEO and his management team for many months and have realized they are shopping complex professionals who will convert Jackson Square Shopping Center into an outstanding, quality property. This project will create jobs during the renovation and also when the complex is full of retail businesses. The city of Jackson will gain additional sales tax to continue expanding our infrastructure to draw more retail and industrial investors. Thank you Regency Properties and Ramey’s Markets for choosing to invest your capital funds in our city, Jackson, Alabama.”
“We are very pleased to be a part of the vibrant Jackson community,” said Regency Properties’ CEO Jim McKinney. “We will invest about one million dollars in upgrades to Jackson Square which will provide a very pleasant and attractive shopping experience for the community.”
Brad Ramey, CEO of Ramey’s Markets said, “We are looking forward to a great working relationship with the citizens of Jackson. Over the next few months we will be working on remodeling the store. We ask that our customers please bear with us as we work to bring many new improvements to the store. We will continue to operate as a cost plus store and are working to bring in new product lines to give more value to the shopper.”
